The Connect Campaign

In August 2004, The Arc of Colorado launched the Connect with The Arc of Colorado Campaign, a statewide awareness campaign intended to organize people with developmental disabilities, their families and their communities.  Since that time, we have traveled across the state and have made presentations about the principles of Self-determination.

THE VISION COMMUNITY LIFE PLAN HAS ARRIVED!

The Arc of Colorado and Visions for Independent Living are proud to offer the Vision Community Life Plan.  We spent the last year creating and testing this new approach to person-centered-planning.  The Vision Community Life Plan has a specific goal of connecting a person with developmental disabilities to his/her community in real and meaningful ways.  The focus areas of the Vision Community Life Plan are: Community Living, Community Employment, Community Activities, and Community Friends.

In November 2006, The Denver Foundation awarded $15,000.00 to The Arc of Colorado to facilitate the Vision Community Life Plan for individuals with developmental disabilities across the state!  If you would like more information about the Community Life Plan process, please read the CONNECTions Newsletter.  We hope to come to your community and create action for real community!

Current Discussion Topic

Based upon the feedback we've received from communities across the state, we will post a quarterly "Discussion Topic" and "Discussion Questions."  We hope you and others in your community will plan periodic meetings to connect with each other and discuss these topics and questions.
